Kelley Sensei began his martial arts training in 1980 in Kent, Ohio, with Sensei Bill Marcum, who at that time held the rank of Godan, 5th dan black belt in Isshinryu, Karate-do, awarded by O'Sensei Kichiro Shimabukuro, nephew of O’Sensei Eizo Shimabukuro. In the late 80’s, Kelley Sensei studied with Steve Zeleznikar Sensei, at that time a Sandan, 3rd dan blackbelt in Shorinken Karate-do. Kelley Sensei continued his study of Okinawan Karate-do in 1990 with Ilene Smoger Sensei. |
